I am an NYC designer/maker, and people always complimented me on the details and personal touches at parties I threw. 

For my own wedding, I wanted everyone to know how glad we were to have them, but knew I wouldn’t be able to entertain each person the entire time. My solution was to make “Who’s Who at our Wedding” booklets, so my guests could get to know who they were celebrating with. I’d always believed the main thing about hosting a fun event is to make your guests feel like you really, really want them there.

I always say one of the best memories of my wedding was seeing people who’d never met before, talking and dancing and then friending one another on social media the next day (it was 2010, when Facebook was cool).

I can sew and also enjoy knitting, ceramics, and almost every other type of craft. I read a ton, have two daughters, and the cutest dog named Tilly. After living in various parts of Long Island as well as in Crystal Lake, Illinois, I set up camp in Manhattan on my birthday in 2001, and it was the best gift I’ve ever given myself.
